Advice For Seekers Of Spirituality...

Allama Sayyid Muhammad Husayn Husayni Tihrani (ra) in his book Lub al Lubaab has advised seekers of spirituality to refrain from watching television or from looking at pictures which are attractive and which may lead to inclination of a person towards this world.

This includes watching dramas, cartoons, animations, games, and pastime activities.

However, according to Allama Tihrani (ra), those people who work in such industries or are using TV, etc., to spread Islam and learn about Islam or for learning important, necessary, or useful things can use it.

Summary: Use of technology and media for useless things is not ideal for a salik (wayfarer).
