Ayatullah Shahabadi (ra) Is Insulted

In a bathhouse, a corporal in a thundering voice lashed at Ayatullah Shahabadi (ra) (mentor of Ayatollah Khomeini (ra)), "Be quick", he roared.

In those days, the bathhouses used to be dark. There were no lights inside and Ayatullah Shahabadi (ra) being an oldman, was very cautious while walking in the bathhouse to avoid the dirty water. Upon seeing such precaution, that corporal started hurling insults upon him. Upon these insults and curses, he was hurt a lot but he didn't say even a word rather he continued down the way and left.

Next day, Ayatullah Shahabadi (ra) while delivering a lecture at a seminary heard that a group of people was bringing a coffin.

He asked: "What happened?"

They replied: "That corporal who insulted you yesterday, when came out of bathhouse, died in less than 24 hours."

This affected and disturbed him a lot and he said: "Had I said something (in response to his insults), he would not have died."

Note: We should be afraid. If we have a wife, husband father, mother, sister, brother, neighbour or anyone who doesn't respond back, stays silent, puts his/her head down and walk away, WE MUST BE AFRAID OF ALLAH'S WRATH about him/her.
