Guest of Imam Hussain (as)...

Rajab Ali Khayyat

Shaykh Rajab Ali Khayyat (ra) narrated: "It is of the days when I was really inclined towards mourning circles and used to do multiple chores of Majlis i.e. reciting eulogies, presenting tea to the mourners etc.

Once, I was really busy serving tea to the mourners and suddenly I saw a young man in shabby clothes enter the majlis and sit in a corner. His collar wide open, necklace around his neck and condition of clothes was not suitable at all.

While presenting tea to everyone, I reached that man and saw that he was wearing ladies socks. I got angry and with anger, I moved the tray in front of him. Suddenly, one of the cups turned, tea spilled and it burned my feet. Because of the burn, an injury developed which didn't heal for quite a long time.

As I thought that after such a long time, why my injury wasn't healing, someone said to me:

"Sheikh! that young man whom you served tea with anger, whatever he was, (still) he was a guest of Imam Hussain (as). You shouldn't have behaved like this with him."
